people know Philip Charles Lithman (b. 1949 – d. 1987) under his
stage name Snakefinger, may it be from some Residents albums or from
his solo recordings. In 1983 Snakefinger went on tour with an
eight-piece-band to present his History of the Blues. Luckily some of
the European shows were recorded back then – and luckily promising
music could get hold of the original tapes.

project had been released on vinyl in 1984, but, due to the time
limitations, featured only 11 tracks. Our CD lists a total of 20
tracks, leading to a playing time of more than 70 minutes.
36-page-booklet presents a hand-written text by Snakefinger plus
further retrospective insights from band members Joshua Raoul Brody
and Steve Mackay (written while on the road with Iggy & the
Stooges)- New liner notes are
written by Eugene Chadbourne.
